"When you find a place by the grassy pond where all that nature, man and God have to offer then stay awhile- and remember it forever."

             -Carl Griffin

When you enter The Griffin Ranch you encounter the era of a classic, old Florida country ranch and farm life; as well as, a world capturing the romance and elegance of a by-gone era. The Ranch is set on 30 acres filled with ponds, pastures and wooded areas. It features guest cottages and cabins filled with antique interiors in a timeless, unhurried atmosphere. We are thrilled to welcome guests to our Ranch who are seeking an escape from daily life to share an experience that enables one to enjoy close encounters with farm animals and the habitats of Florida wildlife in its native pristine form such as black bear, deer, red tail hawks, sandhill cranes, gators, and more. At sunset, you can sit by the grassy pond and experience life as described by legendary authors and philosophers such as Walden, Thoreau, and Rawlings.

Our vision is stated simply by saying that we are dedicated to three principles; care of the land, nature, and people. These three principles encapsulate the vision we also share for the Ocala National Forest and surrounding areas. We believe our most precious resources are the local heritage, the natural resources and the domestic and local wildlife. We also believe that the wisest utilization of our ranch and surrounding areas is through the development of ecotourism which benefits our guests and the rural community living in and around our rich natural wildlife and equine heritage.

With the Ocala National Forest to the East and Silver Springs to the Southwest and Gainesville lying North 35 minutes, the Griffin Ranch is one of the most strategically positioned escapes in Florida. Our Ranch provides a destination that is central to experiencing so much of Central Florida. This area is a favorite among many enthusiasts as the environment and landscape of scenic trails and local highways lends itself as a destination for those who enjoy canoeing and kayaking along the Oklawaha River, hiking in the Forest, biking along the scenic highways, scuba diving in the local area springs such as Forty Fathoms Grotto, Devils Den or Blue Springs, horseback riding along the 100 mile trail or just exploring the many wildlife areas located in and around the ranch. Many of the trails are open to your Four Wheel Drive vehicle for a day of discovering the off-road beauty of the area. You may also choose to take a day trip to a local spring for a cool dip or maybe a trip to the historical town of St. Augustine and local beaches located within an hour drive.

Best of all, there is always the choice to watch the sun rise and the moon climb over the grassy ponds from your cottage porch and enjoy some good food and conversation with new -found friends in a relaxed ranch setting, and you'll begin to appreciate what the Griffin Ranch has come to be famous for.
